Melissa has been working in the insurance industry since 1999. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in accounting from Lakeland College and has enjoyed many roles in the reinsurance group. Melissa is currently a reinsurance technical specialist, working to develop a reinsurance strategy and negotiate complex reinsurance agreements to support the company’s goals and product offering. Melissa’s focus is on communication and leadership solutions to push the overall mission of Chicago Angels forward with compassion and strategy.
Melissa credits her maternal grandmother for instilling her with a strong faith in Christ and her parents for raising her with an early awareness and compassion around the challenges of foster care. Melissa grew up watching her grandmother give all her resources to those less fortunate, every penny. She also grew up with foster children in her home and always felt a stirring to help foster children as an adult. Melissa and her husband Chris felt called to form the founding board of Chicago Angels and feel honored to serve the Chicago area foster families.
Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Melissa has called Illinois her home since 2007. She and her husband Chris are blessed with three children, Paige, Spencer and Elle. In her free time, you will find Melissa on the yoga matt, running, cooking, reading and cheering for the Green Bay Packers or Milwaukee Brewers.
