board member

Mrs. Jennifer Martin is a dedicated community leader, philanthropist, and educator with a lifelong commitment to service, family, and youth development. She has proudly served as the Past President of the Chicago Chapter of Mocha Moms, the only Mocha Moms chapter in Illinois. She is also a proud member of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. and currently serves as a Board Member of Women in Public Finance, where she supports leadership, mentorship, and professional advancement for women.

Mrs. Martin is a devoted wife to her husband, Larry, and a proud mother of two sons, Mason and Morgan, whom she actively teaches the importance of service, generosity, and community involvement. Continuing a family legacy of giving—rooted in welcoming foster children into her home while growing up—Mrs. Martin has instilled these same values in her children through hands-on community engagement.
She is a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
Mrs. Martin has an extensive history of volunteer service throughout the City of Chicago, including:
  • Bank of America Chicago Marathon (Information Specialist)
  • CTA Station Openings
  • Bud Billiken Parade
  • Special Olympics
  • Chicago Ducky Derby
  • Back-to-School Backpack Drives
  • Back-to-School Bash Immunization Events
  • Greater Chicago Food Depository
Her passion for education and philanthropy extends into Chicago schools, where she has supported book fairs, library development, and school art projects, enhancing learning environments for students. She previously served as Vice President of the PTO at GEMS and currently sits on the Local School Council for Ogden International School of Chicago, contributing to school governance and community engagement.
Driven by her love for children and cooking, Mrs. Martin founded Artist Being Creative (ABC), a youth-focused cooking and enrichment program. Through ABC, she teaches children cooking skills while integrating art, science, and life skills in a safe, structured after-school environment. ABC Cooking Classes reinforce learning, promote social skills, encourage good citizenship, and are culturally responsive and inclusive of diverse ethnic backgrounds. Mrs. Martin currently teaches ABC classes in after-school programs and is actively working to expand the program’s reach.
Above all, Mrs. Martin believes in leading with love, service, and purpose—empowering children and families while strengthening the communities she serves.
